Spotlight on: Building Futures

Our Building Futures programme provides digital qualifications and employability support for those aged 19 – 24 in the South Yorkshire region.

These qualifications help prepare our learners for the world of work, while giving them an insight into some of the most exciting and innovative career paths available, such as games design and computer programming.

Each learner also receives individualised, tailored support to help them achieve their goal and move closer to their dream job. Working with their own mentor, they have access to tailored packages of support to help build their future.

In this short blog, we look back at the experience of our previous learners who successfully completed the programme.

Zoe's Story

Zoe joined the Building Futures programme to learn more about website creation. She completed the course and gained some key employability skills, as well as an insight into other topics such as cybersecurity.

Mohamed's Story

After taking an early interest in IT, Mohamed joined our Building Futures programme to find out more.

However, he was initially unsure if he could pursue a career in this field. After completing the programme, Mohamed said he realised just how much he enjoys learning about IT and wanted to continue his learning further.

Blake's Story

Blake struggled to find employment as she wasn’t particularly confident during previous job interviews she’d attended.

She enrolled on the Building Futures programme to gain new digital skills, as well as develop key employability skills to help boost her overall confidence when applying for future roles.

Alex's Story

Alex joined our Building Futures programme to learn new digital skills and regain some confidence after a period of unemployment.

They also admitted that they weren’t sure where their career was heading and decided to join the programme to broaden their horizons.

Alex revealed that they now have a stronger understanding of digital, as well as an increase in confidence and has even made some friends during their time on the course.

And to top it off, Alex has now secured employment after successfully completing the Building Futures programme.
