Learn the key principles of management to help further your career in a managerial role.
Our Principles of Management course is designed to help you prepare for managerial roles, by introducing you to the key responsibilities that come with management.
As part of the course, you’ll complete a series of units that relate directly to the skills, knowledge and behaviours expected for a management role.
This includes learning about objective setting, allocating work and communicating effectively, as well as how to handle conflict and manage your own self development.
The course is delivered over seven days in a virtual classroom, so you will need access to a laptop/computer with an internet connection to complete the course.
On completion of the course, you’ll receive an industry-recognised Level 3 qualification in Principles of Management.
COURSE CONTENT & KEY UNITS
On the Principles of Management course, you’ll complete the following key units:
In this first unit, you’ll be introduced to the key responsibilities as a manager. This will cover the processes of planning and allocating work, monitoring the progress and quality of work, how to handle conflict, how to record information and how to improve overall team performance.
During this unit, you will learn how to communicate a team’s purpose and how to communicate objectives to team members. You will also understand the importance of developing a plan to meet objectives with team members and the importance of feedback and evaluation as part of your leadership qualities.
The final unit will cover your own self development and help you to consider your own values, your personal goals and professional development. You will also understand how to plan development effectively and recognise how to monitor and evaluate development activities.
