"Increased confidence and motivation" - Higher Level Skills Learner of the Week

Our Level 3 Principles of Management course is designed to help you prepare for managerial roles, by introducing you to the key responsibilities that come with management.

This includes learning about objective setting, allocating work and communicating effectively, as well as how to handle conflict and manage your own self development.

One learner who recently completed the course is Motese Macarthy from Greater Manchester.

Motese's Story

After a period of unemployment, Motese decided to explore managerial opportunities ahead of re-entering full time employment.

However, due to a lack of experience and overall confidence, he recognised that he needed an introduction to management and the responsibilities that come with these types of roles.

He found our Principles of Management course online, and decided to pursue the course to further his learning.

Course Content & Delivery

Motese also described the tasks that he completed on the course and was full of praise for just how much he enjoyed the delivery by his tutor, Suzanne.

"I completed several tasks throughout the course, both individual and as a group with the other learners. This included jam board sessions which I found very useful. The style of delivery and content of the course by Suzanne was also great and she was very helpful and engaging throughout."

When asked if he’d recommend this course to others, Motese didn’t hesitate and also offered some advice for those thinking of enrolling on the course.

"I think the (Principles of Management) course is useful for both those like myself looking to re-enter work, as well as professionals looking to learn more about management to help them gain a promotion. I would advise anyone thinking of signing up to just go for it - make sure you're available for all the sessions involved and use it as part of your own self-assessment."

Increased Confidence & Motivation

Motese successfully completed the course and gained an accredited a Level 3 certificate in the process. He told us that he now has an increased confidence and motivation to succeed – with plans to set up his own part-time business, as well as pursuing management roles in the near future.
