In the fast-paced world of digital, where tech and IT industries are constantly evolving, there’s never been a better time to learn new skills to pursue an exciting career in this field. From basic computer literacy to advanced programming, these skills have become indispensable assets in virtually every aspect of modern life.

Our Digital Bytesize course provides a specific Digital & IT Skills pathway, designed for those who are seeking a future career in digital, IT technical support, cyber security and software development.

On completion of the course, all learners receive an industry accredited Level 2 diploma in Digital & IT Skills to boost their overall employability and kickstart their journey to a career in this sector.

One learner who recently completed the programme is Chawan from Northampton, who shares her journey and insights in this short blog, urging others to follow suit and learn brand new digital and IT skills.

Chawan's Story

After a period of unemployment, Chawan was looking to learn new digital skills to add to her CV. However, as a full-time Mum with a young toddler at home to look after, she struggled to find a suitable course. She was delighted to find that our Digital Bytesize course is delivered 100% online, allowing her to complete the course at home.

Chawan explained the benefits of this for her, as well as how she enjoyed working with her fellow learners throughout various tasks.

I liked this course as I could complete it at home without leaving the house and I was able to do it while looking after my toddler.

The best part that I enjoyed most about the course was working as part of a group, helping and receiving feedback when creating presentations, logos, posters and spreadsheets. Following client briefs was also very enjoyable.

Relevant Tasks Completed

As part of the Digital & IT Skills pathway, Chanwa completed a range of units that involved creating digital graphics, spreadsheets, presentations and coding. She told us how the IT technical support elements were enjoyable and how her confidence in returning to work has increased.

I was interested in learning more about networking and programming and I am now more confident because I feel like I have expanded my knowledge and can go back to work.

Her Advice For Others

Having completed the course, Chanwa gained a Level 2 diploma in Digital & IT Skills to add to her CV and showcase her new digital skills.

She also offered some advice for others who may join the course on how they can best maximise their learning.

My advice if you're thinking of doing this course is to remember to take breaks, stay hydrated, and get enough rest. Taking care of your physical and mental well-being is essential for effective learning.

From all of us at B2W, we wish Chanwa all the very best in her future digital career!
