Our Level 3 Certificate in Understanding Autism course is designed to help you develop and extend your overall knowledge of Autism, to help you progress into further learning or employment within health and social care.

This includes learning about a wide range of behavioural, developmental and safeguarding issues you may encounter when caring for children with Autism and how to best support them.

One learner who recently completed the course is Neonila Grecu from Newham, London.

Neonila's Story

After deciding to pursue a career working in health and social care, Neonila applied for our Understanding Autism course to further her overall knowledge in this field, with the goal of boosting her CV by adding the Level 3 certificate she would receive on completion of this course.

Once enrolled on the course, Neonila said she was pleased with the overall knowledge and understanding she gained about the history of Autism and how to work with autistic children in different settings.

"It was a pleasure to work towards enhancing my previously acquired knowledge of Autism, as well as broadening my overall understanding. It really did help further this in the field of ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder)."

Her Experience On The Course

On completion of the course, we asked Neonila to reflect on her overall experience with us. She spoke in glowing terms about the delivery of the course and expressed her enjoyment of the tasks that were asked of her and her fellow learners.

"A number of tasks and activities were asked of us as a group, with assessments completed that were an integral part of the course with additional various activities completed by using the word wall as well as jamboards.

"We also covered material encompassing the historical point of view of Autism, as well as legislative footing and specifications regarding areas of safeguarding, partnerships and awareness."

Increased Awareness & Confidence

Neonila also explained her tutor, Suzanne, gave her and her fellow learners the confidence to use the lessons from the course in her career development, and how she would recommend the course to others who are not only looking to pursue a career in health and social care or teaching, but for anyone looking to broaden their overall understanding of Autism.

"I really enjoyed this course and would recommend it to a wider audience, as understanding autism at many societal levels would ensure empathy, inclusion and further assistance.

"To anyone thinking of enrolling, I'd advise to pay close attention to your time management apportioned to the assessments that are required, as well as work on the part of the assessment that is closer to the delivery times, thus ensuring information stays fresh in your memory."

Congratulations again Neonila, and good luck in your future career!
