How did you find out about The B2W Group’s Building Future programme?

I was working in animal care but struggling with my mental health at the time. I was referred to B2W by Hillsborough Job centre, as I wanted to change career paths – I identified IT, Digital, and Admin as growing sectors with lots of great opportunities for progression.

What did you hope to get out of the programme?

I was keen to gain new skills in new sectors to further my prospects. I also wanted to grow in confidence and increase my employability as I started a new career path. B2W’s digital-focused programme was ideal as it gave me this in spades.

How did you find the programme? Did you get what you were looking for?

It was daunting at first, but Dawn and the team were really welcoming. The programme gave me confidence and new skills, as well as the employability and IT skills needed to pursue my goals. The team also supported me with my interview prep by helping me buy suitable interview outfits. I couldn’t have asked for a more welcoming and supportive experience.

What are your next steps?

I’m currently volunteering for B2W itself, so I’ll continue to do this to gain some more experience in admin and digital skills. I’m sure this will really help me grow even more in confidence and give me the experience needed to pursue a career in admin/IT/digital.

Would you recommend B2W to others in a similar position?

Definitely. The team are so welcoming and supportive. I wasn’t the most confident person when I started, and the other people in my group struggled in a similar way. So I’d definitely recommend the programme and B2W for anyone wanting to build confidence along with their new skills.
