"I knew I needed to get up-to-date" - Digital Bytesize Learner Feedback

One learner who recently completed our Digital and IT Skills pathway is Nicola Dalleywater from Hartley in Greater London.

In this short blog, Nicola discusses her experience on the course, and why you should consider joining her and hundreds of others in improving your digital skills and take your first steps to a career in IT.

Nicola's Story

When enrolling on our Digital Bytesize course, Nicola admitted that it had been some time since she last sought to improve on her IT skills.

She believed that our Digital & IT Skills pathway would be able to being her up-to-date on the latest in IT, while teaching her the fundamentals of using key presentation and spreadsheet software, as well as introduce her to cybersecurity, programming, and more.

On completion, Nicola reflected on the new skills she was introduced to and quickly developed while on the course.

"I actually enjoyed learning about cyber security the most - as it was a fairly new subject for me. But I also benefited from learning about programming, spreadsheets, networking, graphic design, problem solving and project management."

Good Vibes & Support From Tutor

Nicola also commented how she was made to feel welcome from day one of the course, and how she felt supported by her tutor throughout.

"I got really good vibes from my fellow learners on the course from the very start, and from our tutor (Brian) too, who was very supportive."

Advice To Others

Nicola successfully completed the course and gained a Level 2 diploma in Digital & IT Skills in the process. She offered some words of advice for anyone thinking of enrolling on the course and once again, mentioned the confidence she now feels in the various IT subjects she learned on the course.

"Allow yourself the time to get this course done if you can!

"I've really seen the benefits of what being competent in IT subjects can bring. Having not developed my own IT knowledge for 15 years, I knew I needed to get up-to-date.

"It's given me the confidence to help work in my local community using computers, helping others develop their own IT skills."
