Apprenticeships

Overview

An apprenticeship combines work and study to help you advance in your chosen career. It is a great educational choice for any age, with different levels available to suit existing skill sets. Whether you want to begin your journey or upskill in your current role, it can really benefit you and the business you work for.

Why an Apprenticeship?

Work alongside experienced staff

Gain job-specific skills

Learn new skills to apply in the workplace

Earn while you learn with real experience

Full support from tutors throughout the apprenticeship

Gain recognised qualifications

Enhance soft skills

Bring new and fresh ideas into the workplace

How They Work

Apprentices will follow the chosen programme and learn the key skills and knowledge for their job role. Most apprenticeships that we offer are Standards, which means that learners will complete 20% off-the-job training and after around 12 months, will complete their End Point Assessment.

The End-Point Assessment components include an assessment of all the requirements held within the Standard, including competencies, knowledge and behaviours. It takes place in the final few months of the qualification using four assessment methods. These four methods are:

Summative Portfolio

This is a collection of real work completed projects that provide evidence of the skills and knowledge needed to complete this apprenticeship.

Synoptic Project

The Synoptic project is a controlled business related project set by the EPA bodies.

Employer Reference

Employer reference will be based on how you have performed during your programme and how the skills and knowledge have benefitted the business.

Interview

This is undertaken by an Assessor and allows the gathering of further evidence on performance. After this stage, the learner will be graded Pass, Merit or Distinction.
