Access to online masterclasses
Our courses in the West Midlands and Greater Manchester area will give you access to online masterclasses taught by industry professionals. Following this, learners will then complete the qualification using our online learning platform, which they can access to complete units in their own time.
Why are these courses free?
These courses are part of a Government initiative to help people progress in the workplace, whether that progression is more responsibilities, a pay rise, or promotion. The funding helps us to deliver these courses to learners at no cost, and benefits both the learners and the company as it helps to increase competence in the workplace.
Is there an eligibility criteria?
To be eligible for the funding, we do require learners to currently be in employment and living or working in the West Midlands or Greater Manchester area. Although learners must be employed, those who are furloughed can also be eligible for the funding.
What courses are available?
Health & Social Care
Level 2 Children & Young People’s Mental Health
This course is great for those who are working with children and young people, such as positions in schools, nurseries, social care, and those working in roles such as pediatricians.
Mental health problems affect around 1 in 8 children and young people, and this includes illnesses such as depression, anxiety, and conduct disorder. The emotional wellbeing of a child is extremely important, and this course helps to provide a good understanding of the concepts, risk factors and impact of mental health.
Level 2 Principles of Prevention and Control of Infection
About 300,000 patients develop an infection in England each year while being treated by the NHS. Protecting people from infection is an essential element of providing high quality care, especially considering the capacity some potentially life-threatening infections have to spread within care environments.
This qualification will focus on the causes and spread of infection in a health care setting along with how to prevent it.

Level 2 Digital Promotion for Business
This qualification will help you to develop your understanding of how to promote a business in a digital age and to develop your understanding of how to use different digital and online techniques to attract customers and increase brand visibility and sales.
Level 3 Principles of Marketing
This level 3 qualification will provide a deeper understanding of modern marketing theory and application and includes a thorough overview of the principles of marketing.
This course is an ideal option for individuals who have already completed a marketing related qualification, at level 2 or are in a role at a team leader/ supervisory level.

Level 3 ILM Leadership & Management
The Level 3 ILM in Leadership & Management qualification provides you with the knowledge needed to organise, manage and motivate team members. It will allow you to become confident in your ability to perform in your role, as you learn the tools and techniques needed to become an effective leader.
Level 2 Team Leading
This qualification will help those wanting to develop their skills as a team leader. Topics will cover planning, allocating and monitoring work for those they are responsible for, as well as giving appropriate feedback and briefs to team members. It will also cover important aspects which some may find difficult to approach, such as managing conflict and resolving problems.
