Monica Thompson, a full-time Health and Well-being Worker at Manor Castle Development, recently completed the Level 2 in Information, Advice or Guidance qualification with The B2W Group.
Information, Advice and Guidance
The Level 2 qualification in Information, Advice or Guidance is a distance learning qualification completed online from the comfort of your own home.
This particular course is for individuals that would like to develop their knowledge and understanding of providing guidance, boundaries within their role, the importance of record-keeping and confidentiality.
Individuals will also learn about the different effective communications methods, signposting and referrals and also gain an understanding of social policy and how to use information resources to meet client needs.

Before starting the course, Monica wanted to build her self-confidence by completing an educational qualification. Monica was contacted by her assessor who discussed her self-confidence to reassure her of her capabilities.
Monica benefited greatly from the one-to-one support available when completing the short online course. The one-to-one support included talking through assignments until she felt more confident to complete the work, feedback in written format and encouragement to enable her to submit her units.
Outcome
Monica was able to complete the course successfully, building her self-confidence and also her self-esteem. She now has more belief in her ability to continue her role as a health and well-being worker, with her enhanced knowledge and skills.
Next Steps
In the future, Monica would like to further her studies and complete another course from our range of health & social care courses.
Fully Online Qualifications
Following advice from the Government in relation to COVID-19 and social distancing, we have taken the decision to stop the delivery of our classroom-based training programmes.
To adapt to this, we have moved all of our training onto our distance learning model, which will allow learners to achieve the relevant training /qualification and where relevant, progress into their chosen employment opportunity, despite the impact of the COVID-19 disruptions.
Distance Learning Qualifications
The B2W Group offer a range of qualifications, including courses in IT & Digital, Health & Social Care, and Business Skills.
These qualifications are fully funded and available to residents where we have available funding, meaning they come at no cost to the employee or employer and can be completed in up to 12 weeks.
