Digital Marketing Apprenticeship

This programme teaches learners the key digital marketing knowledge over the course of 18 months. It allows learners to work with employers to gain real experience and apply their knowledge in the workplace.

We spoke to Emily about her experience so far on the course.

Why prompted you to want to complete a digital marketing apprenticeship?

I have always been interested in aspects of digital marketing. One area I was particularly interested in was social media management, which plays a big part in the industry. I also wanted to dive deeper into graphic design and Never Average Marketing handles all sides of marketing so it was the perfect place to learn all of these new skills.

Before going into the apprenticeship, did you know anything about digital marketing?

During my time at college I completed a media studies course, which focuses on the way media (including print, film, and television) affect society as a whole. This included looking at advertising. I have also managed social media accounts for a local business, so I already had experience in promoting products and services through social media.

What do you like about working at Never Average Marketing?

I like that it’s a smaller company so we all get on. I am able to work closely with the team and try all the different aspects of marketing.

There is always something new happening. For example, we have a paper that comes out every month and advertises local companies. You can view our latest edition here.

What key knowledge/skills have you learned during your apprenticeship?

Since starting the apprenticeship, I’ve learned how to work with clients and have improved my communication skills. As part of my role I am also responsible for creating blogs for clients, which has improved content writing and SEO skills. I have also recently got access to the company website, and I am looking forward to working more on that side of things.

Would you recommend an apprenticeship to others, and if so why?

I’d definitely recommend an apprenticeship to others. Since starting this apprenticeship I’ve had a great experience and I am continuously learning new things.

What are you looking forward to in the future?

The company is looking to expand quite a lot and has many plans for the future, so I am looking forward to the new changes and being able to implement my new knowledge within the business.

I am also excited to explore coding and graphic design, as these are areas that really interest me.
