Meet Tyler Hall

The B2W Group recently caught up with one of our apprentices, Tyler Hall, regarding his new digital marketing role at Apothecary 87.

Tyler started his apprenticeship with Apothecary 87 on the 5th of November as a new member of the marketing team.

When asked what prompted his interest in this particular role, Tyler told us “my interest in marketing comes from an interest in media, art and culture. I consider myself quite analytical, always questioning or trying to understand a marketing approach.”

Apothecary 87

Apothecary is a barbers and shop which started in 2013 by Sam W Martin. The business specialises in grooming products for men such as hair kits and facial hair wax and balms.

The Backstory

Sam explains how it all started:

“I spent most of my 20’s working at the top of my industry as a mixologist & bar consultant. I had a CV far beyond my years. However when I started my own company in the bar industry, I found it very hard to be taken seriously, as I looked too young; at this point I decided to grow a beard. I soon found that not only did people take me more seriously, but they remembered me! This was excellent marketing and branding for me, so I decided to keep it.

After a while I realised my beard needed looking after and conditioning, so I spent many months researching the best ingredients to make a beard oil that was all my own”

The brand has since expanded, offering a wide range of products in their store and on their online website.

CEO, Sam W Martin, is pleased to welcome Sam into their team and spoke passionately about his new apprentice:

“Apothecary 87 is a very heavily branded company, with a big digital presence. We had been looking for a Digital Marketing apprentice, who can join our family & learn the ins and outs of how we do digital marketing in such a focussed way & can learn from a clean slate.

We are happy to have found Tyler, who displayed a fantastic ground knowledge of the sector, understood the importance of brand & most importantly has a hunger to grow within Digital Marketing. We’re happy to have him on board & excited to see where his career takes him along with how his work will impact our digital footprint.”

Digital Marketing Apprenticeship

During the apprenticeship, Tyler will attend classroom training to learn more about the fundamentals of digital marketing. He will also implement and develop his skill set within the workplace and have the support of our skills coaches and the marketing team at Apothecary 87.

The key areas Tyler will develop his skill set in are:

Principles of Marketing

Project and programme management using collaboration tools and customer relationship marketing (increasing engagement to retain customers long term). Alongside this, The B2W Group cover reputation management and securing personal data.

Digital Marketing Business Principles

Foundations of social media technologies, communication methods and how to engage with consumers using various digital marketing campaigns and tools.

Site Development Associate

Writing code manually, as well as use graphical user interface (GUI) authoring tools. These units will include working with images, creating hyperlinks, and adding tables, forms, video and audio to your web pages and developing websites as managed projects.

We look forward to supporting Tyler and seeing him progress in his new role!
