Works4U: "Confident and motivated" - Anmol's Story

Works4U is an employment support programme designed to provide residents in the West Midlands with opportunities to upskill, overcome personal challenges, move into work, and gain qualifications.

The programme provides wrap-around support to help you find the right opportunity, while breaking down any barriers that could be holding you back from finding work.

One participant who recently completed the programme is Anmol from Birmingham.

Anmol's Story

After successfully studying for a degree at university, Anmol had high hopes for securing full-time employment swiftly after graduating. However, she realised that her knowledge of the local jobs market and her lack of experience in applying for roles online was holding her back.

She arrived on our Works4U programme in Birmingham looking for support to overcome this particular barrier, as well as hoping to develop more confidence in herself and her abilities.

They supported me to learn how to search and apply for different jobs and I’m now more self-motivated than I was before. They were so good in answering my questions all the time.

Enjoyable & Informative

Anmol was full of praise for the sessions she took part in while on the programme, highlighting the “job club” sessions and where she could work as part of a team with her fellow participants in order to complete different tasks together.

I enjoyed each of the job club sessions and learning about SMART goals. They were very helpful for me.

The biggest thing I learnt about was the SMART goals which we always have in ourselves for doing a job anywhere or at any platform. I also had the opportunity to meet new people and work as a team doing different assignments.

Increased Confidence

Anmol concluded her feedback by confirming how she now has more confidence and self-belief in herself, and that she can now successfully apply for roles online and pursue full-time employment.

I now feel more confident to work full time after testing my capabilities during the programme.
