August marked the beginning of our new academic year and as with every year at B2W, we are always looking at ways we can improve the experience for our learners.

Our Digital Bytesize course has always been at the core of our offerings, with hundreds of learners completing one of our three pathways each year.

This course has been carefully adapted to make the offering more comprehensive then ever before, with a focus on how we can best give our learners the key skills and knowledge to help them secure employment in the ever-evolving digital world.

In this short blog, we look back at previous experiences and celebrate the successes that the Digital Bytesize course has given our learners.

Digital Technologies

Our first pathway, Digital Technologies, has a focus on helping learners gain industry-standard and valuable digital, design and development skills.

This pathway covers various content areas including digital security, management of information and website design and development.

Sean Gilbert completed the course this year, highlighting his need to catch up with the fast-paced world of digital.

After completing the course, Sean found himself not only more confident from when he first started but also having learnt key skills and information he didn’t even know existed!

Creative Skills

The Creative Skills pathway is designed to give learners an introduction to the digital sector, with a key focus on website creation and games development as well as, like with all our Digital Bytesize courses, relevant and valuable digital skills.

Kate Jones was one of our learners who completed the Creative Skills certificate, citing the glowing reviews from former learners as a key driver for her signing up.

Throughout the course, she was able to learn photography and image editing, while highlighting the benefit of being introduced to coding, creating a simple game by the end of the course.

All these skills have come of great use to her, as she plans to continue using them in the future not only for her personal use, but within her career development.

Digital & IT Skills

Our third pathway, Digital & IT Skills, supports learners who are interested in pursuing careers in digital and IT technical support, cybersecurity and software development to gain both technical and practical skills as well as valuable knowledge.

Oswaldo Colon Freites completed this Level 2 Diploma, relaying to us his delight at the streamlined enrolment process and the care put into making the content not only relevant, but delivered in an interesting manner.

The course not only allowed Oswaldo to reinforce his current IT knowledge, but helped him become more proficient through teaching a range of new digital skills and information, giving him the platform to move into a skills bootcamp or embark on an apprenticeship using his newly acquired skills as he pursues a career as a front-end developer.

Digital Bytesize has given many learners the opportunity to upskill and develop in their careers and let people pursue the careers they have always wanted. This next academic year will be no different, as we aim to give our learners all the tools they need to succeed.

If you want to join Sean, Kate, Oswaldo and hundreds of others in completing one of our Digital Bytesize courses visit our Digital Bytesize page to find out more and sign up.
