Our Networking & Cybersecurity course is designed to help our learners develop and extend their digital and IT skills to prepare for different roles in network support and digital design.

As part of the course, learners complete several units that relate directly to the skills, knowledge and behaviours expected by employers and covers a wide range and use of different digital technologies and software.

On completion of the course, each learner will gain an industry-accredited Level 3 qualification in Networking & Cybersecurity.

One learner who recently completed the course is Hayley from Greater Manchester, who shares her journey and insights in this short blog, urging others to follow suit and gain key skills in cybersecurity and networking.

Hayley’s Story

Having been made redundant from her position as Head of Sales at a Software as a Service (SaaS) company, Hayley recognised the importance of diversifying her skill set to enhance her future employability prospects.

She enrolled on our Networking & Cybersecurity course for this reason, and explained how the content of the course matched her ambitions and goals for the next steps in her career.

I chose The B2W Group to complete my course because of its reputation for excellence in providing training in networking and cybersecurity. This Level 3 course offered a comprehensive curriculum that aligned perfectly with my career goals, focusing on backend systems and cybersecurity, areas I aimed to strengthen in order to stand out in the competitive job market.

Their track record of delivering high-quality education and their commitment to practical, hands-on learning experiences made them the ideal choice for me to acquire the knowledge and expertise needed to excel in the field of networking and cybersecurity.

Tasks Completed

As part of the course, our learners are tasked with completing several units that apply both practical and theory-based learning. This is something which Hayley enjoyed, and believes the real-world examples of practical learning provided some key insights into the types of roles and tasks that may be asked of her in her future career.

I completed various projects and tasks aimed at enhancing my networking and cybersecurity skills. These included assessments in Project Management and Access Control, where I demonstrated both theoretical knowledge and practical implementation. Additionally, I engaged in tasks focused on Data Communications and Network Management, gaining insights into data transmission and network administration.

Furthermore, I completed assessments in Network Threats and Vulnerabilities, learning to identify and mitigate security risks effectively. Throughout these projects, I utilised tools such as Trello for project management and Cisco Packet Tracer for practical exercises, enhancing my proficiency in real-world networking scenarios.

Collaborative Learning Experience

Hayley also commented on how much she enjoyed working and learning alongside her fellow learners on the course, which she says was invaluable as it allowed her to gain new insights and perspectives on the content of the course.

She also referenced the support she received from her tutor, and the swift feedback she received during her assessments.

What I enjoyed most was the collaborative learning environment, where I had the opportunity to work alongside other learners. This allowed for valuable insights and perspectives to be shared, enriching the learning experience.

Additionally, I appreciated the exceptional knowledge and support provided by the tutor, which greatly contributed to my understanding of the material. The usability of the virtual learning platform was also a highlight, as it facilitated seamless navigation and access to resources.

Moreover, the quick turnaround of feedback on assessments was invaluable, enabling me to promptly address areas for improvement and continuously enhance my skills.

Overall, the combination of collaborative learning, knowledgeable support, the user-friendly platform and prompt feedback made the course thoroughly enjoyable and highly effective in advancing my expertise in networking and cybersecurity.

Advice For Others

Taking the leap to enrol for an online course can be daunting for many, especially if it involves a subject that you’re relatively new to. Hayley offered some words of advice for anyone thinking of enrolling on the Networking & Cybersecurity course about what to expect.

When applying for this course, my advice would be to actively engage in the learning process by asking questions. If you find yourself struggling with any aspect of the course material, don’t hesitate to reach out for help. The tutor is there to support you, but don’t overlook the value of seeking assistance from your fellow learners as well. Their insights and experiences can be just as valuable in overcoming challenges.

Additionally, make the most of lecture recordings and feedback provided. Reviewing these resources can help reinforce your understanding of the material and identify areas for improvement.

Overall, staying proactive, seeking assistance when needed, and utilising available resources will greatly enhance your learning experience and success in the course.

Next Steps

Not only did Hayley successfully complete the course and gain an industry-accredited Level 3 qualification in Networking & Cybersecurity, but she is also well on her way to securing a new full-time role, with two job offers since completing the course.

The next steps in my career involves applying for sales roles within SaaS businesses that specialise in networking and cybersecurity. The knowledge I gained from completing this course has already resulted in receiving two job offers!

Moving forward, I plan to continue deepening my expertise in networking and cybersecurity while also exploring opportunities to expand my skill set. This includes undertaking further courses in areas such as AI, machine learning, and software development. By continuously enhancing my knowledge, I aim to excel in sales roles and contribute meaningfully to the growth and success of SaaS businesses in all things tech.

Congratulations Hayley, and the very best of luck in your career!
