According to the Office for National Statistics (ONS), residents across the UK have increasingly engaged less with their neighbours and more with strangers via social media.

Social Isolation has also become more apparent in many communities, with a direct link to poor health and wellbeing, as well as an economic disadvantage.

At The B2W Group, we invest a significant amount of time and effort in helping to reduce social isolation in our local communities through our various support schemes.

However, getting local unemployed residents back into work really is at the heart of everything we do.

In this insight paper, we aim to highlight the ways in which communities are measured in terms of their overall “social fabric” – and the economic factors that contribute to this, while also looking at what we and other providers can do to help reduce social isolation and improve the lives of residents in our communities.
