"The most rewarding work I have ever done" - The impact of the Future You Programme

The Future You programme recently came to an end, but its impact will live long in the memory of all those who worked in and benefited from the programme.

In this short blog, we speak to those who were involved in the support programme, as well as some of the learners who completed their training.

WHAT WAS THE FUTURE YOU PROGRAMME?

The Future You programme was designed for young people in and around Greater Manchester, with personalised practical and wellbeing support provided for all learners who enrolled.

The programme provided learners with a real mix of skills, practical advice and support, including:

Employability skills
Help with creating a CV and writing application forms
Mental health wellbeing
Creating portfolios and writing cover letters
Skills and training workshops

THE IMPACT OF FUTURE YOU

Future You worked with more than 600 young people from Greater Manchester aged between 18 – 24, around 500 of which officially joined the Future You programme.

The Team Leader of Future You, Renardo, spoke of the pride he felt in being involved in the programme and the impact it had on young people in Greater Manchester.

Renardo said;

"The Future You programme has been the most rewarding work I have ever done.

"Being able to work with around 500 young people aged 18 to 24 years old in and around Greater Manchester has been a real pleasure.

"Of the 500 young people who joined the Future You programme, 60% of these went into work, education, or further training. It really has helped many young people and has had a great impact in the area. I'm genuinely sad to see it come to an end, but very happy and proud that I was a part of it."
