As we have entered the eighth week of the UK lockdown, and our staff working remotely, we thought it was time to get everyone together and host our first virtual quiz for our B2W employees. On Thursday evening we gathered together at the Social Distance Inn (AKA Microsoft Teams) for a company wide gathering.

As it lined up perfectly with the bank holiday weekend for the 75th anniversary of VE day, we took a very british take on this quiz, focussing on all things british, from Percy Pigs to Tracey Beaker to The Beatles.

We made sure the quiz was fun for the whole family with a range of questions suitable for all ages covering a range of topics. We had the chance to meet the families of B2W staff, including the newest arrival of the B2W family, Freddie Muscat!

Highlights from the evening included creating a heated debate towards what the name for this is, with the acceptable answer being ‘bread’, it’s safe to say that we got a rise out of people for that one!

Other highlights being our “Vimto Queen”, Gayle, quite literally head to toe in British clothing with some very interesting headwear. Hattie was wearing something other than her dressing gown. And Saul had a very interesting choice of quiz partner…

At 8pm, we took a break to clap for our carers and key workers to show our appreciation of all the hard work that they are doing to get us through these times.

We also managed to have a good laugh at things such as Liz McDonald being scared of the sign language man, and Moss becoming the countdown champion.

We finished the quiz up with a bonus round, where we could share some of the things we’ve been doing in isolation, including downloading and creating TikToks, clearing out your house and even staying in bed past midday (only on weekends, of course!)

There were prizes up for grabs for first, second and third place including an annual Netflix subscription, a JustEat voucher and an isolation pamper package.

A big congratulations to the winners:

1- Scarlett Gaskell

2- Louise Raynor

3- Ben Waite

Alongside the quiz, staff got really creative when it came to celebrating VE day, and our head of pre-employment trainers, Emma, did a great job of decorating her house to mark the occasion.

We’re looking forward to continuing with a weekly quiz throughout the lockdown and making sure B2W employees are staying social!
