Video: Lucy's Story - National Apprenticeship Week

As part of National Apprenticeship Week, we’re celebrating and highlighting some of our recent learners who have progressed into full-time paid apprenticeships in their chosen industries.

An apprenticeship is a great way to combine both practical and hands-on paid experience in a job role that interests you, with the certifications that employers are looking for.

Our HR, Learning & Development (L&D) and coaching apprenticeships are delivered by BePro – with apprenticeships available between Level 3 and Level 7 as a Coaching Professional, HR Support, L&D Consultant, People Professional and more.

One learner who recently completed a Level 5 apprenticeship as a L&D Consultant/Partner is Lucy Goodman.

Lucy's story

After deciding to pursue an apprenticeship in HR, Lucy was initially a little hesitant to return to a learning environment after working in Employment Advisor roles since graduating from University.

However, the blend of work-based projects and off the job learning really appealed to her, and she soon realised she’d made the right decision for her and her career.

"My overall apprenticeship experience completely exceeded my expectations. The blend of hands-on work, mentorship and supportive cohort I was part of not only eased my transition, but also made my journey immensely rewarding.

"I now really appreciate the practicality of learning and I feel so much more confident in my own skills, which made my apprenticeship a positive turning point in my career."
