For the month of October, The B2W Group promoted a #WellnessMonth, which introduced activities to help improve the wellbeing into our employees and learners.

What is Wellbeing?

Wellbeing is the state of being comfortable and happy. Your wellbeing can be influenced by a factor of things, such as work life, stress levels, money issues, loss or bereavement and relationship problems.

What is #WellnessMonth?

The B2W Group wanted to introduce new methods in which employees and learners can improve their wellbeing in their every day lives. It was also a way to see what our employees liked best so we can implement them in the business going forward. Here’s a breakdown of the month:

Introduction to Wellbeing at The B2W Group – to open up the month, we introduced wellbeing at The B2W Group and what plans we had for the month ahead.

Wellness Walks – every wednesday, we encouraged employees and learners to take a break from their desk to go on a wellness walk. A lunchtime walk helps people to return to work feeling refreshed and energised.

Hot Topic Tuesdays – Each Tuesday, we wrote an article in relation to wellness month, and things you can do to improve your wellbeing. Take a read here:

Fruit Fridays – to promote healthy eating, we introduced fruit fridays into The B2W Group, delivered by Fruidel

#HelloYellow (For World Mental Health Day) – On the 10th October, The B2W Group participated in the #HelloYellow event and wore yellow to raise awareness and money for YoungMinds, a charity that helps support young people with their mental health.

Stress Management Seminar – we welcomed Self Help into our Manchester office to deliver their stress management seminar. They introduced some great exercises and techniques our employees can use in their everyday lives.

Blood Pressure Check – we dedicated a morning to checking employees blood pressure. Did you know, more than 1 in 4 adults in the UK have high blood pressure with many not even realising? If your blood pressure is too high, it puts extra strain on your blood vessels, heart and other organs, such as the brain, kidneys and eyes.

Employee Feedback

We asked employees what they were looking most forward to during the month. The main themes we saw were:

  • Continuing a healthy lifestyle all year round with the help of fruit fridays
  • Team building exercises through wellness walks and other activities to help wellness and build relationships within the business
  • Dedicate a day of leave for employees to volunteer their time to charities
  • More workshops to help with employee wellbeing

We are very pleased with how the month went and it gave us an opportunity to explore new ways to make everyone happy. We are looking forward to implementing methods into our business to promote the wellbeing of our employees and learners at The B2W Group!
